Computer Not working..

went to autozone today to get codes read... they plugged in scanner, and the scanner couldnt read car..... went to advanced same thing happend... How come?.. about a month ago i had them red and it worked fine.. the only thing i changed on the car was i had a radio installed.. any ideas?

some 99-00 stangs needed PCM updates. You can take it to a dealer and have them scan the PCM.

If the PCM wasn't working, neither would your car.

Take it to a different place to get the codes read.

Check and see if you have power on pin 16 LG/RD wire in the data link connector. If not check fuse 31(10 amp) in instrument panel fuse box.

Who installed the radio? The OBD connector is very close to all the radio stuff, maybe they knocked something loose?

how do i no which one is fuse 31?

If its the same as all the other Ford cars I worked on, the OBDII connector runs off the same power supply as the cigg lighter/acc socket fuse. Check that one.

fuse 31 was blown..
