There are a few different varieties of computers... just a few different calibrations.. Here's the #'s of most of the MAF computers that are around. A9L and A9P are the most common.

1988 MANUAL 8LD
1988 AUTO 8LF
1989 MANUAL A9L, A9S
1989 AUTO A9P, A9T
1990-92 MANUAL A9L
1990-92 AUTO A9P
1993 MANUAL A3M
1993 AUTO C3W
1993 COBRA X3Z

The harness itself is what is different.. Most of the computers are interchangeable, although I have never done it.
You can also use an auto computer in a manual... but not a manual comp in an auto..

The computer may not be the problem. Have you done the simple things like a compression test or a tune up? How does the oil look? Is it milky? Milky, foamy oil that looks like a milkshake is a sign of water leaking into the oil pan. The water leak could be from a blown head gasket or a bad lower intake manifold gasket.

i have cheked all the things and i know its not a head gasket i think it may be the injector that is stuck open and just pouring fuel into the motor

White smoke is generally coolant man. If you have an stuck open injector the smoke would be black. without compression test results you really dont know weather you have a blown HG or not. Thick white smoke is generally not a good sign. Check the oil for a quick answer...and then do a comp check anyways for peace of mind.

Do you have cats on the car? If not that would explain why it smells like fuel. I dont exactly know what blackish white means?!?! is that grey?! either way i think they only way you will know for sure is to check the oil and do a comp check.

An injector that is stuck on will blow white smoke and lots of it. I nicked a wire on my injector harness when I put an intake on once and I grounded the injector so it was open all the time. It blew white smoke out the back like you wouldn't believe. A lot of fun trying to drive that through downtown Orlando.

It was pumping so much fuel that it wouldn't burn so it just came out as white smoke. I found mine by starting the car and letting it run for a minute and feeling the header primaries. When I found one that was not hot I shut the car down and pulled the plug. I then had a friend crank the car with the plug out and it shot huge amounts of fuel out of the sparkplug hole. I ended up pulling the upper off and I found where I nicked the wire and fixed it.

One thing that you might be able to do is pull all the plugs, and let it sit for a minute with the KOEO. Then have a friend turn it over and see if liquid fuel shoots out of any of the plug holes.

Good luck

Does the engine have a miss?

One could also run a cylinder balance test. If the issue is that large, the test should pick it up (that plug shouldnt be firing). Then use a noid light on a suspected injector connector to see if it stays lit constanly like RC's would have.

Good luck.

Mine literally POURED smoke out the back. Bad enough that I really couldn't see any cars right behind me through the rear view mirror. It also had serious driveability issues, meaning it ran like complete crap. Suprise how cars run much better on 8 cylinders vs 7.
