computer question

ok new to the mustang world got a 1998 mustang covertible. heres my question i want to upgrade my computer chip. first where do i find the computer and how do i find out what the ecu code is?? if anyone can help it would be appreciated thanks for your help.

Here's my opinion: It's not worth it, unless you have some REAL mods (i.e. engine work, supercharger).
On a side note, the computer is on the passenger side, behind the passenger side kick panel.
P.S. try a search next time

yeah, you shuld atleast hold off the chip untill you finish the full list of bolt ons, otherwise it will be nearly useless, it will give you a much better response after u finish the other bolt-ons, or like he said, if u lay down some engine mods

THANKS FOR THE HELP AND P.S. I DID DO A SEARCH AND KEPT GETTING BS FINDS THOUGHT THATS WHAT A FORUM WAS FOR WAS TO ASK A QUESTION JUST REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ASSUME SOMETHING BUT ANYWAY THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

yeah, we always say to use search, but often time u wont get anything good, u shuld prolly say "I tried search and found BS" also no one accused one of "You are teh nub u gotsa use teh search!? you frick ***xorz!"

Go to autoanything.com Just got a 70024 chip for my 2000 3.8L manual tran. Haven't put it in yet tho.... was $237 and free shipping...try that

I believe they call the the JET performance module.

And another thing, that money would have seen better use if you just would have given it to me.

listen hurry you dumb ass why would you want to make a something out of nothing yes a did a search but you are to consumed in your ignorance to realize that you dont have a V8 and a V6 is not **** damn get a life

woah, dude, calm, i am kinda on your side here, all im saying is if you dont want people to say 'your a newb, use the search' you should state u used the search ahead of time... if you re-read my statemeant i thing you will find what i said a bit more clear...
