ok new to the mustang world got a 1998 mustang covertible. heres my question i want to upgrade my computer chip. first where do i find the computer and how do i find out what the ecu code is?? if anyone can help it would be appreciated thanks for your help.

Here's my opinion: It's not worth it, unless you have some REAL mods (i.e. engine work, supercharger).
On a side note, the computer is on the passenger side, behind the passenger side kick panel.
P.S. try a search next time

yeah, you shuld atleast hold off the chip untill you finish the full list of bolt ons, otherwise it will be nearly useless, it will give you a much better response after u finish the other bolt-ons, or like he said, if u lay down some engine mods

THANKS FOR THE HELP AND P.S. I DID DO A SEARCH AND KEPT GETTING BS FINDS THOUGHT THATS WHAT A FORUM WAS FOR WAS TO ASK A QUESTION JUST REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ASSUME SOMETHING BUT ANYWAY THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

yeah, we always say to use search, but often time u wont get anything good, u shuld prolly say "I tried search and found BS" also no one accused one of "You are teh nub u gotsa use teh search!? you frick ***xorz!"

Go to autoanything.com Just got a 70024 chip for my 2000 3.8L manual tran. Haven't put it in yet tho.... was $237 and free shipping...try that
I believe they call the the JET performance module.

And another thing, that money would have seen better use if you just would have given it to me.

woah, dude, calm, i am kinda on your side here, all im saying is if you dont want people to say 'your a newb, use the search' you should state u used the search ahead of time... if you re-read my statemeant i thing you will find what i said a bit more clear...
