I think it would be polite to ask computer and related questions and post helpful info in a separate thread rather than derail another misc. thread.
To start out, how are the heavy users doing with Windows. 11? How are business and home networks doing with it?
Info-
I have my Win 10 small business and home networks working with networked printers and shared back up storage with fike and media sharing. So I have been letting others work out the new system glitches while I got the McAfee disaster with Chrome, Edge and Win 10 fixed on about 7 frequently used computers on two networks. (Plus kindles and idevices.)

Then my 18 year old asked for a real computer for her birthday (not just a school chomebook with lots of. restrictions) for college in the fall. The Dell Inspiron that seemed like the best fit came with Win 11 home, not the S version. Besides needing some help with installing printers and networking, she has not needed my help. The SSD runs a lot faster than my 2 year old bigger inspiron that I would hate to lug to class, but works as a portable TV.
Besides that my Canon Pixma MX880 and the Canon Selphie photo printer will probably not work with Win 11 without a work around, if at all, Anything else to look out for?
The HP all in one black laser printer still works, so she's haappy.

I still have win10 on everything myself but purchased my 13 year old an alienware desktop at the end of last month which came with windows 11 home. He tends to push everything to its limit and overclocks his machine here and there and hasn't had any issues so far with 11.

This is disturbing if you do not like being tracked.

Researchers use GPU fingerprinting to track users online

A team of researchers from French, Israeli, and Australian universities has explored the possibility of using people's GPUs to create unique fingerprints and use them for persistent web tracking.

Does anyone know if the Consumer Technology Association is a good group, an evil group, or a PAC? They are running ads on national news about security crippling legislation without specifics.

Home

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® is the trade association representing the $398 billion U.S. consumer technology industry, which supports more than 15 million U.S. jobs.

I still have two Win 7 desktops packed somewhere from when we moved. I will remember this advice if they need help getting up and running.
(One was a network back up, and the other has programs that newer Windows versions do not like, and was good in the shop.)

As cheap as printers are you could probably replace or add one if she wanted an upgrade. Some schools offer tech discounts as well.

Here is a signed and working Apple one computer auction. $250k so far.
Apple products are overpriced.

RARE Original Apple-1 Computer from 1976, Fully Operational and Signed by Woz  | eBay

In 2021, we had the opportunity to showcase our collection to Steve Wozniak who autographed both Apple-1 computers in our collection. Woz chose to sign the CPU of this particular Apple-1, and was enthusiastic to see two of his creations in such remarkable condition.

Apple prices are inflated by the fanboys.

That, and they're still coasting on the fumes of Jobs' innovative spark.

We somehow skipped those after having the Iomega Bernoulli box and discs. The discs were about the size of a standard piece of paper, and 3/4 in thick iirc.
