I happened to be looking at instructions for C/C plates on MM's site, and I had no idea you had to do strut adjustments with spacers when installing these things. It says its different for every car and that lowered cars require the strut thread to stick out higher by the amount that you have lowered the car. First off, I dont know what the original strut thread height was because the car has always been lowered, and the jack ass who installed the springs, kept the stock plates in. Looking at the stock struts now, I dont see any spacers anywhere so I doubt a lowering adjustment was ever done. What affect do the spacers have on alignment? Is this something the alignment shop will handle? Where should I set my spacers at since I'm using Eibach lowering springs? I'm assuming the car has approx. 1.5" drop. The plates I bought are Steedas and they should be here by friday. Anybody have the same issue or know more than the vague details from MM.

You need to make sure you have enough spacers between the strut and the plate to keep the strut from bottoming out and smacking the coil over top retainer and or the cc plate/shock tower.

You also need to keep in mind that the top nut should have atleast 1 full thread sticking out to actually use 100% of the fasteners strength.

Now I know you run stock style springs, but the same rules apply...

You need to trial and fit....

I end up on most cars with a 3/4" and a 1/2" spacer, however the last few I did were coil over cars. I would think MM explains the spacers well in the directions??

The spacers will not cause you any issues when you take the car to get aligned, it will need to be aligned after the cc plate install anyways.

The Steeda plates and instuction are different than the MM.
Steeda Plate your only dealing with 3 bushings/spacers where the MM have 5 spacers.
I just change over from the Steeda plate to the MM a few months ago, but I still have the Steeda instruction if you want I can send them to you.
