Confusion abounds

Today I finally found the all in one tool kit that I had stolen from me several months ago, and so I decided it was time to tackle my Stang's idle problem.

Unfortunately, what I saw under the hood did not agree with what I was supposed to be seeing, according to Stinger's page.

I can't make out much from the photos as you stated.
The harness hanging from your ditributor- both my 89 and 87 Crown Vics (TFI disributor equipped) had something similiar. At the end of those wires is a small socket with a little plug in it. The plug has two little blades in it that plug in to the socket. If this plug falls out the car will not run. So as long as that plug is in place securely(I had to tape mine so iit would'nt fall out)the car will start/run.

Your IAC motor is about 5-6 inches long and is cylindrical in shape with a two wire plug that goes into the narrow end.

Thats about all I can tell you, hope I wasn't just telling you stuff you already know. Hopefully someone else will chime in. I have had great success with Chilton manuals (IMO Haynes are no good).

Picture 1: Spout connector, right where its sposed to be, plugged in.

Picture 2: MAP switch, this needs to see intake manifold vaccum in order for your car to run/well.

Picture 3: the TPS is right below and to the right (if your looking at the picture) of your IAC. Its just in a different position than stingers pictures, but still same general location.

just to clarify...there are only two sensors/modules on the throttle body...the IAC and the TPS. One has a two wire plug, the other has a three wire plug. The TPS is 3 wires...look at the back of your throttle body to see it.
