Connect Vortech to 90mm LMAF?

Is there any ready-made solutions to connect a 90mm Lightning MAF to a Vortech S-trim besides the AFM power pipe? $250 is a bit much to stomach for a welded aluminum tube and some silicon at this stage in the game!

I've got a stock 130k long block so hitting high boost isn't at the top of my list until I start building up a new block.

Ideas?

and why can't you use the vortech ducting? 230 is a bit much but worth it IMO. it's not just a tube of steel, it's also ceramic coated to help intake temps. and its pretty too

i can tell u from experience that the upr pipe is not made to fit our cars, even though it says it fits up to 95. its really for fox cars. i bought the upr pipe, d-cked with it, and returned it only to buy the afm power pipe.

The Vortech ducting is made for the stock sized MAF - it's a good deal smaller (actually fits INSIDE the Lightning MAF)

I guess there's always the bling factor you gotta take into account.

After reading this and doing some more searching I found out the same thing, thanks for the tip.

Darn, looks like I get to either buy the AFM pipe or fab up my own and then buy the AFM next year w/ the new engine.

Guess I'm going AFM... the bling alone is worth like 50rwhp, eh?

Does anybody know of another brand that fits?

My AFM didn't fit good. It dented the plastic wheelwell down to fit. I put on a UPR and it actually fit better. I have a different motor height so I don't know if that makes a difference. Still the UPR is not right either.

the AFM isn't perfect, i had to finese the plastic fender cover too a bit and mess with the wires to get it to fit, but again worth it IMO

It would be awhile because it's in a storage unit and I have no idea what box. I am building a shop and when it's done I will get everything out of storage.

One thing about the coating they put on, it is pretty tough. I actually heated it up with a torch and put some wood on the bottom and hammered it to try to get it to flatten out a little bit so It wouldn't push the plastic fenderwell down so much. The tube was hard to flatten and the coating didn't come off either. It didn't really help and I didn't want to flatten it anymore so I put on the UPR. So my tube is "dented" but in the right place!

Alls you need is a silicone coupler, I bought one from ebay for like 10$ with tbolts

Was 4" to 4" so it fit the powerpipe and the 90mm (4") maf
The coupler with the powerpipes isnt 4" on the meter side so it wont fit

If you happen to be up there and can find it easily shoot me some pics - I'm planning on dropping in the S-trim sometime early February... too much other crap going on to get to it now!

It'll give me some time to mess around w/ my '72 in the meantime.

Anyone got a pic of the powerpipe and a Vortech installed on our cars? I couldn't seem to find any images that were still available on the search.

Silicone couplers all over ebay.....I fabricated mine. I will probabley redo it soon though.
