The base stereo (not the mach) is pretty darn crappy I must say. I've got quite a weird combo on my car. It's a 99 5spd, cloth seats, with the premium steering wheel, ABS and Traction Control. Its basically got everything except the leather ... I don't know what the original owner was thinking when he ordered it.

Thanks for all of your imput. A 2001 or 2002 mint v8, with 35,000 miles, manual, with leather interior just kinda fell into my lap. Its spent most of its life in a garage. I still have to go check it out but it sounds pretty good. If i can wing the price, and warm my parents up to the idea of me getting a v8 should i get it or go for the more economical and practical v6.

Oh... I think you know what I will say... V8 V8 V8!!!!! Dude trust me, I have had a 5.0 GT, and now I have a 3.8 V6, and there's just no comparison. I know you don't want a fire-breathing quarter-mile drag racer with parachutes on the back; neither do I. But, I'm telling you, every once in a while you will want to get on it, and when you do, you will be sooo glad you have a GT! The rest of the time, if you go easy on the gas, you will have nearly the same fuel MPG as a V6. Seriously with mixed city/highway driving, if you drive like a normal person, your MPG will only be 1 or 2 MPG lower than a V6. Just stay out of trouble so your insurance won't skyrocket, and you're good to go!

Save the V8 for later. If you're college age (19-23), insurance on a V8 will absolutely kill you! The GT Mustang is one of the most expensive cars there is to insure.

My brother is a sophomore in college and just bought an 02 GT auto right before he went off to school. He loves it way more than his 96 V6 that he had. I am just waiting till i get to college and can buy my grandms's 01 bullitt off of her.

My 00 V6 has ABS and traction control w/ cloth seats and auto tranny.

A grandma with a Bullitt? What a waste....That's like a 16 year old with a GT500.

Nah, at least the Bullitt will be in brand new condition. The GT500 would end up into a tree.
