My Aode trans has been beginning to act up lately. I had it rebuilt 7 thousand miles ago and now it wont kick up into higher gears when i accelerate and i can tell when i get on it that it's slipping. I like the Aode trans's except i dont wanna keep rebuilding/putting new trans's in. Granted it's only my 1st rebuild and the car has 97 thousand on it. But everyone i talk to says that when they blow their first trans that they just keeping blowing all the ones that they put in.

Anyway i'm considering putting a T-5 in and i was wondering what do you have to do to put the pedals in? And what is the hardest part about doing the swap? I've never tackled something this big before but i know i can do it with the help of a few of my friends and you guys.

as for the pedals, you'll have to find a donor car, the whole assy, just bolts in, piece of cake. When I swapped mine over, I was a bit nervous too, I prepared for a while and got through it alone just fine...got a haynes manual or something of the like?...read through it a few times, AODE removal, t-5/clutch installation. As long as you got all the parts in front of you its easy, you can visualive where it all goes, with help should be easiier. I think the hardest part was in fact putting the pedals in, not very difficult, just awkward, being under the dash, you gotta bend and flex to get at the bolts, but they are accesible, also moving the AODE around was tuff, fu#$er is heavy. anything else just ask, good luck man

do a search man...even when i asked this question last fall there were tons of things out there that helped me. i say go for it cause my total swap was about a grand and a rebuild for my auto was like 1200 so hands down the better idea. do a few searches and if you still have trouble, come back here and there are plenty of people to help

You can do a T5 swap for a lot cheaper than a grand if you get all used parts. OR you can go with a built auto tranny from lentech or another place.
