On my 94, how tight are those things supposed to be? My drivers side latch makes a clicking sound on larger bumps, and I have it tight, where you have to give it some mustard to latch the thing, and it still makes a click sound when I hit bumps.

my latches are real tight on my 94. they don't make any noise. but the top was only down a few times in the first 8 years of the cars life.

my drivers side is cake but the passenger side can be a biach sometimes. when i have the top down, the little latch that grabs the windshield part can move around but for some reason stays perfectly tight when it's closed- maybe try moving it up and using a torx screwdriver to move the hook up and tighten it in a different location (that's what i did)

mine is pretty good on both sides. got the top replaced 2 years ago. my buddy just got a new top on his 01 and it was pulled too tight (the material) and its a pain to lock down.

hmm

I thought it might have been the actual hook, so I placed a rubber hose over it.. Still makes a click sound. I then noticed, at the first pivot point nearest the windshield, a bolt that extends out. I thought that thing was making it click, so I backed it out a bit.. Guess it aligns the top, after moving it, my top was off to one side by at least an inch. I am going to try to tighten the hooks a bit more and try again. I compare this click sound when I hit bumps to that ancient water torture, where they drip water on your forehead every few seconds. It is making me unstable
