I'm working on an 87 vert and one of the rear quarter window carriers is loose. I was able to get it off the glass and cleaned out, but not too sure what to use to reattach it. Are you supposed to use Butyl tape? If so, what size?
Of you are talking about the weatherstrip that goes in the channel at the back of the quarter window then you need weatherstrip adhesive ( the black stuff ). Black silicone will also work.
That’s it! The metal channel piece. that was coming off the window glass so i fully removed it and got it ready for instal back onto the glass but not sure what you use? just black window sealant like you said?
If you are talking about the chrome glass channel you need to use liquid butyl rubber
Otherwise the above posts are correct about gluing the weatherstrip
