convertible seatbelt question

I have an 89 GT convertible that I changed the interior to black. I know they didn't make any black interiors until 1990 or so. Will other belts work in these cars, like black ones from 90-93 with some modification?

Yes the 90 93 ones will work with a little modification. Same thing in my car. Previous owner did it so I cant quite remember everything but I think the lower part was mounted to the inside of the rocker panel. It looked like he cut out the mount from the other car and welded it into mine. I think the top was just bolted in. Hope it helps
