Convertible Spring Noise

Hi, I have a '65 convertible and I'm tracking down as many squeaks as I can.

I have a manual convertible top and the springs that assist in raising the top squeak like crazy. The springs are scraping against the metal tube and I can't figure out how to stop it.

Any help would be appreciated.
