Need to find manual release lever for convertible top

Hi, I have a 2012 Mustang convertible. My rear drivers side regulator snapped it's cable. This locked out my top from functioning. I bought a new regulator at O'Reilly's $160. Unbolted the old one but can't lift it out of the fender well with the top in the up position. Google says there's a lever in the trunk that when clicked, allows you to manually lower the top. Google was vague at best. Removed everything from the trunk. Cannot figure it out. Help, please. Photo would be greatly appreciated.

Everything I’ve found on this suggests the “lever” is in the trunk area near the left tail light. Maybe behind the cardboard upholstery piece?
