About a year ago, one of my convertible top cylinder/pistons cracked and started leaking fluid, making opening and closing the top with the button impossible. I disconnected the hydraulic line from the pump and drained the fluid, so that I could put the top up and down by hand.
I recently picked up a replacement cylinder/piston, and would like to swap it out with the leaking one, but I'm not sure exactly how to go about removing the old one.
If anyone has replaced this part, could you tell me how you did it? Specifically, is the bolt that holds the end of the piston an allen head or star fitting?
Any other advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
