Okay, did a search and found a little bit of info, e.g. it's really hard and takes about 10 hours, but still had a couple of quick questions. Is all you need the top for about $150 if everything else is working fine? Also, what do you do with the back window? Thanks.

I got my top for about $200 off 50resto.com. I set aside a weekend to do it, but you can probably do it in 1 day with help. There is a set of instructions floating around.. If I still had them I'd send them to ya. It's deff. worth doing it yourself. Just take your time and be careful.

If it's the original then it's probably time to replace it. Better to do it all at once then have to do double work. Go with a glass window, and if you have some extra money, get a canvas top....they look a lot better than vinyl.

Good luck
Dave

Thanks guys. I know it might be a stupid question, but why would you buy a new window instead of using the old one? Also, it is actually the second top the car has had on it and everything else looks pretty much new, plus $$ is an issue, so I will probably just get the actual top.

Is the stang your daily driver? If you can afford to have it out of commision, or at least without a top, for week or two, then I would pull the top off and then inspect the window and see if it looks like it needs replacing. Then place your order. I got my stuff from www.topsonline.com

That's a pretty good idea actually. I only drive it once every week or two anyway. Gotta love having a beater. Thanks.
