ok i recently got my hands on a full set of cobra brakes from an SN95. Anyway the questions i have are what else will be needed besides axles? It seems i also need some 94-95 cobra spindles. Has anyone done this conversion and if so was it worth the effort?

Also i forgot to mention this is a 87 mustang GT.. Somthing else i was also wondering is if its possible to but a 17x10.5 on the rear of a Fox body car without major mods? Can i just get by when rolling the fenders or?

Yes they can fit, but it will take a little work.

You'll need to modify the rear disk setup to run the stock fox track using ranger 5-lug axles (or 5-lug fox-lenght aftermarket axles). You will need a set of brackets from North Race Cars

Now to run 17x10.5's, you may need to do other mods such as massage the inner fender, roll the fender lips, eliminate the quad shocks and possibly eliminate or modify the tailpipes.

Up front, you don't need Cobra spindles specifically. All Sn95 spindles are the same. 94-95 spindles push the wheels out approx 5mm and 96-04 spindles push them out about 14mm. The 96=later spindles offer better suspension geometry but can make the front tires stick out quite a bit.

Good read here

ahhh thanks for all the great info i was wondering alot of these things... Yea i dont personally have a problem getting rid of the quad shocks as i planned to replace the upper and lower control arms with maxximum motorsports parts my main goal is to make this car handle. Im not really looking to make somthing that goes fast strait i want it going fast all the time:nice:

yeah it would be nice to have a car that doesnt stop like a wagon lol.... Im coming from the world of having brembo's on my evo 4pot up front and 2pot in the rear and the mustang stops nothing the same... I believe that these cobra brakes may bring it into the same neighborhood:nice:
