Converting gt to an lx? Frowned upon?

Hello all! King of noob questions is back! Lol!
I've always been patial to the lx fox bodies(well, the notches more, but thats impossible)... I bought a 89 GT recently, and was wondering what all I would have to do to convert it to an lx? Only exterior mods would be needed. Obviously I would need to change the front clip and the back bumper... and pull off the bottom molding. I know the clips are on there, so I would have to fill those with(gasp!) body filler... Oh yeah, it already has the lx taillights...
My other question is if this would be frowned upon? I realize there is a good amount of fox bodies out there, but don't want to do something to an original GT if it is going to be looked down upon. I know its my car and all, just wondering...

It's your car, you do what you want with it. LX body style will remove some weight and instead of body filler, use a mig welder to fill in the holes (or pay someone to). I think the worst thing you can do to a fox is going from 4 eye to aero-nose lol Lots of people in my parts convert GT to LX simply because the side moldings are sagging and to loose some extra weigh. I don't like the look of the GT body kit personnaly.

Why is an LX notch impossible? Don't make me regret my trade (notch to hatch) lol

I was saying that a conversion to a lx notch from a gt would be impossible... If I'm not mistaken
I'm not a big fan of the body kits myself...

I personally wouldn't do it. Around me, most ads are for LX's, not GT's. If you really want an LX, sell the GT and buy another car. If you want to streamline the look of your GT, try a Cobra rear bumper and possibly a Stalker front. Did that to mine, looks real nice.

that's a nice option, the stalker front end fits real nice...

i'd stay gt. i did theopposite converted my lx to a gt and couldnt be happier.
i just always have liked the way the GT's look.

but if you want to go ahead and do it you will need to change bumpers, get rig of logths and fog light bar, remove side skirts,brackets,door mouldings.

you will need lx bumpers, door moulding and then the other mouldings taht tape ontothe car behind the door rear bumper and front fender those i believe just like on a GT you would need to get some that will fit your car which will be ones from a 87-90 lx. the wing but i would leave the gt wing as it looks better than the lx one and thats all that u need.
