Converting to power steering questions

Basically..... WHAT DO I NEED?! lol I know I'll need brackets, power steering pump.... what else? And where can I get all of this stuff. I have a 69 Grande. It's going to have an '85 302 bored .030 over (306). As of now its still got 4 wheel drum too. Any help would be awesome! thanks!

Your best option is to get a setup from a donor car but if not you will need a new center link, hydraulic control valve, P/S cylinder, idler arm, hoses, pump and like you said misc. brackets and hardware. There are always people wanting to go to manual so look for the complete setups these will also help with core charges if you have to replace some big ticket items.

Well, he nailed about all of the parts. You can get them through Mustang vendors such as N.P.D., Virginia Mustang,etc... If your not going for a concours restored car, I suggest buying the pump and the four hoses at Autozone or Advance auto parts for a big cost saving. Source the ram, center link, and other odd parts from a Mustang vendor. Get your brackets through them as well unless you can find used ones,(which will be a whole lot cheaper!!), and clean them up and paint them.

Well, I work at O'Reilly, so I can get a good price on the pump and hoses and such. So I can probably get the new center link, hydraulic control valve, P/S cylinder, idler arm, hoses, pump all there. As for the brackets and hardware, I guess I'd have to call Mustangs plus or what not.

Has anyone done this? is it very hard? I know I'm going to have to get a bracket too because I've got long tube headers. I'll probably get some new long tubes just so i can get rid of my other new ones with the motor.
