Alright y'all- here's the story: I recently (3 weeks ago) bought a t-top '85 5.0 fox body (5-speed) with a '96 F-150 5.0 (don't ask- I have no clue why!). I pulled the A/C on friday (no comments on that being a stupid idea necessary- I know ), and noticed a little coolant in the front of the valley more on the driver's side.
Long story shorter, I had the wrong size belt after the a/c removal, and when it came off, I saw steam coming from under the hood, and there's now a large amount of coolant in the valley, and on top of the water pump. Any ideas on what this would be from? Hoping it's not the water pump- maybe the t-stat? Thanks in advance! Cheers- Mark W.

Alright- thanks friend- just wanted to make sure there wasn't some other common issue- no signs of a head gasket going bad (milky coolant, gray goop, etc.), so I was REALLY hoping it wasn't the water pump- money is pretty tight right now, so that'd really hurt- thanks again! Mark W.

I'd check the hoses and clamps on the pump. It may just be a loose clamp and puddling up there.

Check for leaks around the temp gauge sender that is just in front of the #5 intatke runner. It has 1 wire with a push on connector. It is easy to confuse it with the ACT sender which has 2 wires and screws into the #5 intake runner.

There's a bit of old coolant on that sender- I'll replace that as well I suppose- oh joy Thanks again- Mark W.
