yesterday i got out of my car and noticed some lovely, coolant smelly, steam coming out from my hood. i popped it open and checked it out. it seems like maybe the gasket underneath the water neck/stat housing is spitting a little coolant. is this a common problem? has anyone else experienced this on a 2v 4.6? side question... as far as i can tell, there is only one gasket under the entire intake manifold...am i gonna have to remove the whole thing to fix the tiny leak?

also, i see the PI intake on american muscle for like 200 bucks. on an '02, do i need to change anything to make a PI intake work? or is PI just a fancy way of saying "stock plastic"

what year is your car?

Bullitt intake would run you anywhere from $1k used upto @$2k new, PI and Non-Pi intakes were aval wth or wthout the aluminum X-over, so watch what you buy.......

yeah after i said that about the prices i did some more looking. i found some plastic replacements on americanmuscle.com and summitracing.com, they are running about 200 each. am i gonna need any other tricky parts besides a gasket? i'm definitely not afraid of the job, i just don't want to get stuck missing some essential piece of the puzzle

weird, your car should have the PI intake with the aluminum crossover. Maybe you need to replace the intake gaskets?

yeah it's the PI intake with aluminum crossover. i'll probably do a little more inspecting before i replace the whole thing. i mean i have to take the intake off to replace the gasket anyways...
