I replaced a thermostat housing in my 2006 V6 which was leaking. I am unable to get the clip that holds the sensor in place to work. I have a new sensor, since I did not realize you could just replace the "O" ring on it, but the clip seems jammed and wont slide thru the opening and around the sensor. When I take out the sensor the clips slides around it with no problem. Any thoughts on how I can fix this. I even bought a new clip to no avail and this should be the least technical part of the replacement. Thanks in advance for any input.

If the clip is not going in either you aren't pushing hard enough or the sensor is not seated down all the way.
When I helped my nephew replace the housing on his we installed the sensors and everything onto it first and then installed it as a unit.
Hardest part was that stubby little hose on the front of it.
