Cooling Fan Issue...Please Help !

The cooling fan on my 98 4.6 GT has stopping working. It will not even spin when the AC is on max. I thought that it may have been wiring or the fan motor itself, but direct connection to 12V power will spin the fan. After some research on this forum, I found some mentioning the CCRM module in the fender so I purchased a new one. I plug the new one in and it worked, life is good. A week or so of driving with the fan working fine, I am back where I started. The fan is no longer working. Even when I ground out pin #46 with my home made switch, the fan won't turn on. I triple checked the wiring near the ECC V and CCRM in the fender for cuts or damage and it looks perfect. I am not sure what to try next. What am I suppose to do? Buy another CCRM module? The last one cost me $160 bucks and can not be returned since it's electrical. So I am hesitant to buy a new one until I am sure what it is. I need to get this issue fixed since I need to drive my car and its hotter than hell lately. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

There is a way to use relays so the fan is on when you have the key on. My buddy did it on my 96. You can wire it so the low speed or the high speed is on. I have my high speed on while the key is on. My friend who did the wiring had it like that in his super coupe for a couple years like that with no problems. I havent had any either except for the first time we tried it, he only used one 30amp relay and it burned up so now there is two wired in there and its been about 6 months with no problems. By the way we tried the same things you did and he said it wasnt working because there was a ground in the car somewhere but we didnt feel like looking for it haha.
 
I went through the same issues. First, check the fuse. If it is good then check the connection. Turned out on mine the fan electrical connector was loose. Try moving the harness around while it is up to operating temp and see if it comes on (be sure to use gloves so you don't burn yourself on the rad hose).

Another issue... just because the fan turns with 12 volts hooked up does _not_ mean the fan motor is OK. It can drag, and increase the current draw significantly. Significantly enough to burn the relay contacts in the CCRM a second time. I'd either use a series ammeter on the fan to see what it is drawing, or replace it. The second time around shows something besides the relay contact in the CCRM is bad...

Have any idea on what would be the easiest way to test the fan?
