What is this part called to replace? This doesn't look good at all? Looks like it's going to be pricey.

yes that is the intake manifold. It is real common with 4.6s and the replacement manifold with an aluminum crossover is easy to find. But DON'T buy the generic Dorman Chinese ones.

Anyone know if I absolutely have to buy new gaskets for the intake manifold or can you reuse the old one I know it would probably make sense to just get a fresh new set what do you think?

Changed out spark plugs also. This is what I found on passenger side. Just one out of eight WTF?

The gaskets are technically re-useable. I personally would not recommend using at 10+ year old set of gaskets when you are already in there working. Go to any parts store and buy a good set or get ones from Ford (hey they lasted this long issue free).

I would wonder if it has had a spark plug blow out at on point and someone threw the wrong one in there after they time sert repaired or something.

I went ahead and got the new gaskets. Project is complete by the way. Everything went smooth no check engine lights. Far as the spark plug probably a seal.
