Once you figure out how hard the driver's side plugs are to remove, you'll want to use platinum on that side at least, just so they will last longer before you need to do it again...
It's not all THAT bad. But it does suck ass when you get the cheap plug wires and ALL the leads break off and stay on the plug. Even if you use a boot puller, which wont fit on most of those anyway. But I changed all 8 in like an hour, and that was with me pulling the boots off, having to fish the leads off the plugs, then lubing the boots and sliding the wire back through and re-crimping the leads onto the wires. (34.99 is too much when the wires are only 3 months old)

I had a set that two of the plug wires actually rusted apart where they crimp onto the plug. I guess thats why you buy the ones that are lifetime warranty. Gosh, I don't even remember if the ones I got were that or not, its been a few years again. I will go thru the next tuneup when I hit 9000, Im at 84000 now, it will be at least another year.

I usually try to keep my plugs pretty current. I like to change them every 6-8 months, or when ever the car seems to run crappier than usual. (pending inspection of course)

thanks for the feedback it seems to be running ok it recently flodded here in houston and i took in water i have owned several mustangs all have been v8's as a mater of fact this one is awaiting a transplant, i must say the 2.3 is one hell of an engine i took in water through the intake (initialy) and then the muffler (after the car sut down) i waited till the next morning and thought what the hell let me see if she cranks up a few putter and she fired i slammed on the throttle and dumped about 2 liters of water out of the tail pipe changed the oil cause it looke like moca frapacino and shes running as strong as ever i dont think my 306 could have dopne the same!

Sure it would. I had a bad TB gasket dump about a half gallon of coolant through an '89 GT I used to have. I pulled the plugs and blew it out, then ran it up the street and left about two 100ft water stripes. :p

I ONLY use copper plugs in al of my engines, BTW.

What about just ignoring the driver's side plugs or even closing the gap? I mean jeez, the point of 8 plugs was what?

I don't see what is so hard about changing the plugs. Try changing them in a minivan or a cutlass supreme, or any transverse front wheel drive for that matter. The plugs can all be replaced with a 3/8 ratchet and 4-6" of straight extensions. You may have to swivel the alternator out and take off the air intake, but dang, its not that bad. :SNSign:
