Copying tune from one chip to another ???

Guys,

this is the short version of a long story, I have been tuning my car with the SCT pro racer package for a few months now....... I have lost all data on my tuning laptop, all backups are destroyed and the only copy of a working tune i have is on position 0 of the chip currently in the car !!!! sucks huh !

so, the guys at SCT say there is no software that allows me to read my tune back off the chip on to my laptop, fiar enough, it stops people coping others tunes i guess... if i send it back to them though, they can read it and email me the tune back, which would be ideal..... except i dont trust any couriers to get that chip from London to Florida in one piece

SO... are there any bits of hardware/softare out there that will let me duplicate the chip, then i can send them back just the copy of the chip, so i can keep a good copy here... I can buy a blank chip no problem, but can anything duplicate it ?? If it runs to more than $500 I'll just get on the damn plane and take the chip to SCT myself... although, i would prefer there to be some magic duplicator machine avaliable

any help would be great guys...

thanks

Option 1: Mail it but insure it. If it gets lost, you'll get your $500 back. Unfortunately, you'll have to tune it again. That could be a bad thing, or a good thing. I think it would be fun to tune the car again.

Option 2: Take a vacation to the US. Get with SCT. Maybe they'll let you hang around the shop for a day. That might be better than any of the tourist spots in the US.

I'm not sure why you are that concrened about the tune that is on there? Is there a major reason you can't start your tune over from scratch? I've done probably a hundred times. I don't see a wideband in your sig, so I'm assuming maybe that is part of the reason. If I were you, I'd spend the money on a wideband, and the SCT tuning manual if you don't already have. Keep good notes in the manual on your changes and you won't have to worry about computer backups again. Good luck with it.

sorry, not everything's in my sig, im up to my 500 character limit ?!?!?

ive got the inovate lm-1 that i use to datalog with the xcal-2. Ive got the tuning book from sct and have read it cover to cover repeatedly. It's just the time its going to take to get it perfect again, thats all im concerned about, if i could buy a chip duplicator, i could keep the car on the road with its current tune and then send the other one off to be read.

so is there nothing on the market that can duplicate a chip ???
