Hey guys. Earlier this month I was seriously contemplating buying a '09 GT but even though the price I can get is great, in fact WAY better than any dealer can offer back in the states....I decided to stick to my original plan and get an '03 Cobra. My old neighbor Greg had a stroked (347ci) '94 white Cobra and he'd always talk smack on my old '99 GT. He'd usually be sarcastic and say "Yep, that's MY snake parked down there." I have always liked the looks and obviously the specs of the '03-'04, but it was Greg that truly pushed me over the top.
I would like to one day pull up next to his '94, and be like "Look at MY new snake" Lol. So, anyways I have an interesting dilemma. I'm having a hardtime figuring out what I'm going to get to haul my Banshee. We currently have a 4x4 2000 Eddie Bauer Expy but it's the wife's and using it will only be temporary for me as she'll have it most of the time. So, I could get a trailer and use that but in the long run I'm gonna need either a truck or something like one (i.e. "El Camino"). My biggest and I really mean BIGGEST problem is I can't stop myself from modding the crap out of everything.
My Banshee was fine & dandy when I first got it but the frame was a little tweaked in the rear subframe...."that won't fly!!" so I have since tore it completely apart and have approx. $6000 wrapped up in aftermarket parts for it. I was thinking of getting a '94-'98 Chevy Siverado, 4x4, shortbox, regular cab, auto BUT chances are that once I get it I'll end up going hog wild and body lifting it PLUS suspension lift, beadlock wheels & pro comp tires, stainless exhaust, new TH400 tranny, shift kit, fresh crate engine, I was even thinking of possibly having the frame rhino lined as well as the bed and of course installing other aftermarket upgrades. See what I mean? I usually can't stand anything being stock with a few exceptions. So what do I do?
Does anyone know off a vehicle that can be found for around $6500, be 4x4, NOT be a van or station wagon, that can haul a Banshee WITHOUT a trailer and still even more important would remain completely pointless to mod since it would be perfect as is? I'm just stuck here, Jeeps, K5 Blazers, all sorts of pick-ups....and I can't find a single one I wouldn't want to mod. Plus lifting one even by just a few inches along with the addition of bigger tires makes it a chore picking up a 400 pound ATV by myself and loading it onto the bed.
I guess I'd probably mod a pickup since it would be fun to go trail riding in one. Anyone have any suggestions. Also it'll most likely be my daily driver as the Terminator will be under a cover in my garage. HELP! Suggestions! What are you guys that ride ATV's using. I know it might sound dumb, but I just truly have fun making my vehicles "cool" or "unique" (and not in a "ricer wing" kind of way either. Lol).
Maybe I can still modify a Chevy Silverado if I can come up with a unique way of loading my Banshee in the back without ramps as it is too wide for ramps. It has +2"/+1" Lone Star A-Arms up front and a Dura-Blue X33 extended +4" wider than stock int the rear. Oh, and the swingarm is +2" longer than stock. Anybody ever see Jay Leno's firetruck? It has a fabricated diamond plate aluminum powered lift in the back....hmmm.
