Well, I went and splurged today, bought my cobra some parts for its birthday including BBK L/t headers > bbk shorty O/R X > magnapacks and finally 4.10's... well, now my money is tapped save for what i have left over for the gear install, and i completely neglected buying something that will fix the speedo with the 4.10's in ...

What do you all suggest I do? I hear talk about those little speedo gears from like dallas mustang or something. anyone had luck with those? would you recommend them? A chip is pretty pricey so i'd rather if there was another way... but if its a necissary evil i suppose I could hold off on installing the gears until my monetary flow picks up again. oh btw its a 98 cobra.

Thanx ^_^

Do a search and you'll find all the info you need. BTW, the speed cal is a electronic device and not a gear, but it works well and is easy to install. Good luck.

The Speedcal is from Dallas Mustang and falls under your "Something" request.

It cannot be used if you have an automatic and you'll be stuck using a chip.

I bought the Speedcal to correct my speedo from a 4.10 installation. I plan on putting it in the weekend.

Well, depending on the year of your car, you don't change a gear, you may have to have a speed cal device or a chip. What year is it? Speed cal is about $ 100. Gear install with all fluids and parts will be around $ 200-350. LT header install will be about $ 400.00 unless you do it.

its a 1998 Cobra, 5 speed.
the prices you gave for install are pretty dead on to what some local shops are quoting, so it looks like if I have to go ahead and get the speecal (which seems like my best option) ill have to wait until my next paycheck. But it's ok , we can't always have our cake and eat it too right ^_^ thanx for the advice all
