When is the last time you paid to have heads milled and how much did it cost?

I took a pair in to have .030 shaved and the guy told me $100 per head. I thought that was way high and I did not leave them.

I paid $60 or $80 for a pair. Cant remember exactly...

When I got my Gt40p's we swaped heads and gave him my untouched stock gt40ps that I picked up and then I gave him $300 for his full porting work and being milled 30/1000. Then I paid his shop to install them.

When I did my heads I got them milled and rebuilt for around 300 including New springs, retainers, and freeze plugs.

This guy wanted $475 for valve job and milling. And he didn't mention it including any new parts.

Needless to say, I ran for the hills.

$80 for the pair. I had $400 in milling, freeze plugs, valve job and double comp springs. Of course that included new retainers, keepers, checking the heads an cleaning them.

Does that include the ounce of crack he's on? At that price you are better off buying a set of new TFS heads.

Back a few years i had a set of gt40y's (not x's) valve jobbed and milled cost $325. $225 for valve job and $100 for milling the pair.
