I've got a local body shop (Ford Dealer) quoting me a price of $1450 (i supply parts) to replace both side full floor pans & supports, trunk all around gas tank, and back tail light section. I did not feel comfortable doing my self. Does that price seem reasonable? 1970 mustang fastback.

Sounded reasonable to me also. Initally they told me $900 to $1100 dollars which I thought that was pretty optomistic. Once they seen all the parts I dropped off they came back with the new firm price now. I went ahead and authorized it.

That's a good deal, especially since their doing the work! I bought my sheetmetal and MIG welder with gas and miscellaneous tools. I've done both full length floorpans, floor to firewall extensions, partial firewall on drivers side, both front floor supports and both front torque boxes myself. I've still got to put in the seat risers and front battery tray plus the subframe connectors. It wasn't too bad but it can be time consuming and dirty work. In all I've probably spent over your quoted amount of money. On the plus side I get bragging rights about doing the work myself and I get to keep all the tools and equipment when I'm done.:nice: I'm kind of picky about the work so you could say I'm a perfectionist. I am in no way a professional, I'm just a regular guy and wanted to do this work myself. I also wanted the experience doing this work so I could possibly do it again later down the road with another car. But like you I don't feel comfortable doing any metal work that will be easly seen, such as a fender or quarter panel, YET. So if the work wasn't done right and to my liking then I have only myself to blame. If you don't want or can't put in all the time and effort to do it yourself and buy all the tools to do it, then by all means have someone do it for you. There's no harm or foul in my book. As long as it gets done is the important thing!
If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably opt out and have someone else do it. It would probably be all done by now!:D

Nemesis: There is some satifcation in doing yourself and what I have learned over the years is that when you do it yourself it may take longer but usually do a little better job since you spend the extra time on learning and doing it right.
