could a vaccum leak cause a loss in power?

I was wondering because when I went to the 1/8th track i ran a best of 9.550 @ 74 mph. I was thinking that with what I have done I should have run at least a little better than that, and I am thinking I have a vaccum leak anyway. so would it affect that?

If you want to check all your vacuum lines, you'll need to pull your upper intake off. Are you sure you got the bolts tightened down good? Try spraying some carb cleaner around your vacuum lines and the base of your intake, and if your idle shoots up, you've found your vacuum leak.

I had to replace all the vacuum stuff under the intake plenum recently. The hoses were cracked and the plastic T fitting had broken in half. Replaced it with a brass one and some power-steering hose. Seems a bit tougher than the factory junk.
