I'm a big fan of turbos and know very little about them. I want to install a couple of them on a stroker 347 when I have the money, but have a couple of questions. Do I have to custom bend the headers to hook them up to the turbos or does someone sell them? The reason I ask is cause several guys here with turbos seem to have custom built their headers(OINK). Also, what would be the best twin turbo set up to go on a stroker?

Thanks

I agree, it sounds like you have a TON of research to do!

You CAN make your own headers, or buy them.

If you have the welder ( TIG is your best bet here), grinder, chop saw, tools, ect, and the time, then go for it. Makes it even easier if you have a spare motor on the engine stand.
I have made a few single kits now, and the twin setup im currently going to run, and I have learned alot from this set of headers.. It's a great learning experience, if you have the time and tool. Not all that difficult, as I would say the hardest part was actually coming up with the design. As for the pipes, you simply buy the J or U bends and cut them to size, by fitting and mocking up. most of the time if you buy J bends, you do not need to buy straight pipe, or very much of it.

Otherwise www.bgturbokits.com sells the twin turbo headers fairly cheap. As for turbos, you should do the research to size them correctly for your application. IE: Cubic inches, rpm, engines powerband, type of driving/racing,ect.

make them yourself. It makes life easier when you can put everything exactly where you want it. Just be sure to add supports to what you make to help prevent cracking

Thanks guys, I really wanted Mike to tune in since I know you've been doing it yourself. How is it coming along? I'm also getting a 347 with forged internals and H beam. My setup would consist of, but open for suggestions, the track heat intake, street tw heads with dual springs, 1.7 rockers and a custom cam(not sure of the specs there). I wouldn't mind it being in the 7000 rpm range. I also read that the afr 185 are a good head for a 347. What do you guys think??
