whats up all, its been awhile since i posted. im on my way back from deployment and i have a couple questions. First, my headlights sometimes dont come on for some reason, when i press the turn signal switch back like im turning the high beams on, they work.. could this be the begining of a bad turn signal switch?? maybe something else.. second, i bought the correct speedo gear for my stang with 373 gears, what do i have to do to install it?? i know you guys say its easy, but i dont know what im looking at under their, so i could use the help. I bought the accell 300+ ingnition, i really havent read many good/bad things about it.. why is that, is accell a bad company? I just hope i dident waste my cash. My passenger seat leans, when i looked under the car, it looks like maybe the car droped on something, or maybe hit something. the floor pan is bent upwards... what would be the best way to fix this problem, and what are those tiny metal lines that run across that area, are they for the breaks, fuel... I know i asked allot of questions for one post, but you guys are pros so i know ill get answers. thanks, tom

The steel lines you see could be for the fuel or brakes...you weren't specific enough on the location;)

The speedo gear really is easy...you follow the speedo cable down to the underside of the car where it goes into the driver side of the transmission. It is held in by one 8mm or so sized bolt and then you pull it out. The speedo gear will be on the end. Then alls you need to do is pull the clip to get the gear off and then replace it with the new speedo gear and put the clip back on and re-bolt it back up.

On the lights I'm not too electronically savvy so I wouldn't know but your guess is as good as mine (bad turn signal wires?)

The body work made need to be fixed up by a body shop so they can bondo it or you can go the expensive and risky route and replace the floor pans if that indeed is where it is hit.

Maybe this will atleast bump it for ya:)

It sounds like the headlight problem is the miltifunction switch(blinkers, brights ect) easy to change.

Speedo gear is one bolt pull it out and unclip the old one. easy once you are under the car.

Def. go with the new headlight swith. ditch the accell and use an msd. Beat the floor strait with a hammer, Dont break the fuel lines. The seat lean is either the seat mounting At the floor{broken?} Or the upper portion of the seat is broken where it mounts to the lower portion of the seat. Your speedo gear installs on the tranny speedo line where it mounts to the tranny. You will have to take off the small bolt that hold it to the tranny and pull it out of the tranny. Self exp. From there.

The headlight problem is in the multifunction switch.

The Multifunction switches from 87-89 will fit any 87-89 year Mustang, but don't work properly in a 90 or later model. The 90-93 multifunction switches will work in any 90-93 model Mustang but don't work properly in any of the earlier models.

ok, what exactly is the multifunction switch?? im thinking it is not the whole turn signal assembly... or is it... where can I get one besides the junk yard and how much are they. I bought the accell from jegs, I would like to think it would do something... does it?? Better gas mileage, better idle... cleaner emitions... I am sure I can do the Speedo gear, im not to worried about that. the seat thing is not the seat itself being broken, it looks like a past owner would know what happened. It looks like something hit under the car where the seat bolts down, and pushed up... its pushed up and the sub frame connector (the t part) is also bent up. im not to sure what happened, but I would like to fix it. Thanks for the replies and let me know about the multifunction switch and accell 300+ ignition, as well as the messed up floor pan. :nice: thanks tom

I ran an older HEI version of the Accel 300+ in an F body that I owned. Accel is not a bad company. They make great products in my opinion. Your stang will run smoother, pull harder (SOTP) and burn more of the fuel in the chamber (emissions & MPG). Keep the Accel and love it!

For the body work.. Take it to a good body shop. Better have a professional get in there with the BMFH (big hammer)

I can't help you on the lights... Best way to trace the problem is with a multimeter or just start replacing parts :nice:

agreed with JR.

the MF switch is contained in the TS switch housing. they are around 80 bucks at resto houses.
The MF switch takes the power from the headlight switch and divvies it up based upon if lows or highs are desired.

good luck.
