I just picked up a 4" cowl hood for my '91 LX yesterday and when I layed it on the car it doesn't sit right. The length and width is good and it lines up at the front and back, but it doesn't seem to arc down as much as the stock hood. When its all lined up at the hinge end, the front of the hood sits a few inches too high. Since the hood is fiberglass I could make it fit the contour of the car perfectly, but with pressure applied to the front and back. I'm taking the hood to get installed and painted by my buddy's bodywork guy and was wondering if any of this would be a problem or if it will fit when latched down with pins? Thanks

honestly.. if you could get pictures, that would help out a bunch on determining what you need to do to get it to fit right

did you take off the rubber stops that are on the fenderwells? maybe thats keeping the hood from sitting flat

I'm going to take some pictures of it tonite when I get home from work and I'll post them then. The rubber stoppers aren't getting in the way of it closing, the hood just seems to be a little bit warped or twisted in the middle section causing alignment issues at the front.

Adjust the hood bumpers. The front latch assembly may also need a little adjusting.

I'm going to post some pictures later, which I'm sure will help a ton, but its inches away from the latch and a couple inches too high on the drivers side. The hood seems twisted and a tad bit warped. I'm hoping that with it latched and pinned down it will fit good or at least sort of correct itself over time after being in the 'latched' position.

What brand hood is it? If its an El`Cheapo then thats most likely your problem. I've got a Cervinis and it fits the factory body lines perfect and its dead flat, no ripples.

Well, I had a few friends of mine look at it and it turns out the plug for the hood light and another cable from my alarm were resting on one of the edges the hood sits on. My stupidity Thanks for all the help! :SNSign:
