I have a 65 fastback that I transplanted a 91 EFI 5.0 HO in, put in a Holley EFI tank and pump. I ran the fuel lines straight from the tank to the stock fuel rail. If it sits for a few hours it looses fuel pressure and won't start. I shoot a little starter fluid and it starts right up. I can drive it all day and it starts fine. let it sit for over 3 hours and no go. Good filter, good pressure, replaced the fuel regulator and that didn't do anything. When I turn the ignition key on and the pump comes on, it continuously runs and doesn't shut off, like it's not building up pressure and shutting off by itself. should I have something in the supply line in addition to the fuel filter?

Sounds to me like you lose your prime and the pump cannot " reprime" itself... Are there rubber hoses " inside" the fuel tank?? I would check these for any wear, cracks or holes...... While I was inside the tank I would check all of the connections to and on the pump..

First have you checked for any codes? Second, when you turn the key the pump should only prime for three seconds then shut off. Typically when the pump continuously runs the ECU needs to be repaired.

Being a transplant to a 65 model there could be several issues, this thread is a few years old.
You need to start a thread here:https://stangnet.com/mustang-forums/forums/fox-engine-swaparoo.250/
be detailed about the car history and mods and maybe a pic or two for those of us that are not readers.
