My 02 Gt cranks but wont start after a 03 cobra guage cluster install. The"Theft" light just flashes and the car wont fire. Tried disconnecting the battery for hours...still nothing. Could it be anything other then the PATS tranciever?

You would need to have pats turned off from a custom tune installed in a sct xcal 2 or 3 if you want to use that complete cluster. Or you will need to use your existing odometer with the pats chip from your original cluster installed on the cobra cluster. You could also have ford program the cobra cluster to work.
I have not had one apart for a while, But if my memory is correct when you dissasemble your cluster there is a small circuit board or chip that is part of your digital odometer. that needs swapped over to your cobra cluster then your car will start.
Nope, doesn't work. I hooked up the GT odometer which reads 76k to the Cobra guages and it still reads the 52k that the cobra had on it. The car will not start with the cobra circut board hooked up. The odometer mileage must be stored in the circut board itslef, which is not interchangeable.
Are you sure that I can have the PATS shut off with a custom tune without having any other problems?
That small circuit board does contain the mileage that is also what has the pats in it. You can contact don at lasota racing. com he can sell you a xcal3 with 3 custom tunes and turn off pats for $379.00. What is different on the 03 cobra cluster that you can not swap the odometer chip over? You might try the 99-01 cobra cluster. I have installed the 01 cobra cluster with pats turned off in a 2000 GT, Worked perfect.
The odometer chip swaps over just fine. But makes no difference when swapped. The PATS must be in the larger circut board in which the odometer chip plugs into. The 03-04 cobra circut board is different because of the indeglow guages.
