I've got a promblem. My engine cranks over but as soon as it hits 1,000 RPMS or idling it dies. I can sit there with my foot on the gas at 1500RPMS and it will stay on.

I just replaced the O2 senors. I'm getting fuel out of the sharder valve and I hear the fuel pump buzz. I got a new TPS sensor on it, PCV valve, and no vaccum leaks for sure.

I cant figure this out.....I didnt check the timing yet. What would you guys recommend I try?

Pull the codes since you dont have a functional CEL.

Have you cleaned the IAC and reset the idle? That is where I would start.

Good luck.

I check the codes and it told me Hall Effect Sensor or some guys call it PIP. Inside the distrubtor.

I grabed the part I just need to figure out how to install it. I can't take off the upper shaft to get to the sensor. I dont see any roll pins or snap rings? My book dosent explain it.

Hissin do I need to remove the entire dizzy? I searched and you recommended I take it to a machine shop. I have a bearing puller. I dont even know if this would work. I'm struggling here.

Cool. Yeah, you pull the dizzy and slide the guts out after removing the gear.

A bearing splitter is what works well.

Good luck.

I got it all back together. But I am having a really hard time sliding the distrubutor back in. Any tips? It goes in the hole but I need another inch before I can get my hold back bolt in.

Have you tried spinning the shaft one way or the other? The meshing points sometimes jamb up.

Yes Hissin I tried that but it's not going in. It was a little tough to pull out. I dont know I guess I'll keep trying. Should they go in pretty smoothly? Like cake or do you have to force it a bit?

Definetly don't force the dizzy back in. Like hissin said just spin the shaft a little. The gear on the dizzy has to mesh w/ the cam gear and sometimes it take some spinning to get it but it practically falls into place once they line up. .
