I just got my bbk chrome shorties in from summit and they have all types of marks on them. I was just wondering if you think I should ship them back or keep them?

Mine had those marks too.....It doesn't really matter though.....Those will be fairly gone once you heat cycle the headers anyway....

+1, they'll be a nice shade of blue within an hour of startup.

They are normal.

Hit those things with some VHT Ceramic paint. It will look 1000X better. Plus, they wont blue.

Yeah, mine had em, and they are now blue. Its cool though, cause my car is Sapphire Blue, so it damn near matches.

are the bbk unequals carb legal? I'm looking to purchase a set of headers but will be moving to California in August so I need something that will pass emissions with no problems.

They look like clamp marks from the tubing bender. I wouldn't be too worried about it, unless it bothers you from a visual standpoint. Then I'd send them back.

hijack thread on:

Yes they are. As long as you get the ones for 94-95 Mustang GT. They have the bung that allows for the EGR to still be used.

FWIW My BBK longtubes are/were also equipped with the EGR bung if smog is desired.

All BBK will have those marks. Still a great product for my $ IMO.

I will also add that mine looked just like that, but once you get them in there and run the car, you will not notice those marks. No complaints for the price. Just make sure not to use the gaskets that come with them, they will burn-through in no time.

that is definately the way they look. the display at summit is the same also. before you put them in take a die grinder and grind out the extra weld inside the ports. You'll be surprised how much is inside. one more thing my egr tube was too short i had to modify the oem one and that tube is strong.
