I just bought a 1990 GT. The former owner had some 1.7 rockers and new valve springs put on. He had the bright idea to put the old vavle springs under the seat mounts to jack up the seats. In his defense he was short and the car has a cowl hood. Of course the seat moved around like a mofo. It cracked the floor by the rear mount and pulled the front stud outta the floor. So now I have to have to fix all that before I put the new rug down.

The previous owner of my car did the most hillbilly job I've ever seen trying to fix the floorboard at the left front mount... they cut a 1.5"x3" hole in the foor so they could get a piece of flat bar in there, put a bolt through the bar and didn't bother to weld anything together. The genuises didn't realize the bolt would just spin when trying to tighten the nut that holds the seat down... real smart. I put a 35 cent speed clip on their piece of bar and reversed the bolt, which got everything tightened down nicely...

I have a dyno sheet from when my 3rd gen was on the tractor-trailer dyno.

Perhaps the guy was going for the springy feel that semi truck driver seats have.

Crazy as in stupid or crazy as in cool? lol

Cool,

In 04 (I think) I went to NMRA in Chandler AZ and saw a mustang that ran 6.4X and had 2500+hp. The fastest mustang I think I've ever seen. I got to talk to the crew and see the vehicle up close. Quite amazing IMHO. There was an intercooler were the passanger seat used to be.

Stupid,

Scotch locks and wire nuts. Everyone does this upgrade. If it's on the outside of the car exposed to moisture take it X2.

i saw side mounted exhaust on an 87 GT, thing is the guy some how bent the original pipes to do it. he then built a funkly looking t-top thing. he cut the peices out of the top, and instead of glass he cut convertible material to cover it when not in use.

I remember seeing the Buick GSX in Hot Rod magazine a few years back with TWO roots type superchargers on a homemade intake manifold. They were angled like a "V" on top of the engine. That car was BADASS.

As for stupid "mods," I love seeing wiring that was hacked beyond repair and then taped up. Or seeing tons of stereo wiring in the engine compartment and it's all hooked directly to the battery with the cheesy crimp on connectors.

What's wrong with connecting the amp directly to the battery using a crimp connector?? I just re-did my wiring with a crimp connector, soldered it, and heat shrunk tubing around it to protect it... What do you do thats better than this??

My buddy's stereo hooked up in his stang. It's hooked right to the battery just by stripping the wire off, no ring terminal.

I knew a guy with a Tbird SC that would disconnect his MAF along with all the tubing and just leave an open TB. He though he ran slower because he was spinning so much (no wheel spin ar all)

my dads friend has an 84ish f350, with a 460 (the trucks a beast). But the rear spring mounts rusted out, so he's got a chain come-along holding it all together. Its really just a temp fix though, I think he's gettin a different truck.

my car had LED pedal covers on it....that pissed me off.

and by far the craziest thing Ive ever seen (not in person) was that crx with the turbo out of the hood.
