Crazy Clutch

Okay... this is crazy.... but it's the kind of thing that makes me lose sleep at night. I put
my clutch and pressure plate on last week. And for some reason I keep wondering if I put
it in correctly. I should just pull it all back off and verify it... but it's a pain pulling it off the
flywheel and going thru all that again. The clutch has a sticker showing which side goes
to the flywheel... but I was just wondering when I put the pieces on the spare yoke I was
using for alignment whether I accidentally flipped it backwards. I don't think I did... but how
can I be sure? Could have the assembly still gone together if it were backwards? Are there
any tell tale signs of it being right or wrong? The car is just sitting on stand at the moment
as I wait to pick up the bell and tranny this week. I notice that when tightening the pressure
plate bolts that the fingers on the pressure plate were moving to a tighter position around
the axis of the yoke. Should I read any indication off of that? Was that just an indication
that the clutch was being properly set into it's proper position?

I'm just trying to avoid yanking it all back off... that's all. If I wasn't waiting around for the
tranny I would have just put it all together and not thought twice....

I'm thinking you have it on backwards. (In my case, if there's a 50/50 chance of getting it right, about 80% of the time I get it wrong, )

On my solid hub, 6 puck clutch disc, the hub isn't centered on the disc in the linear plane, it's offset to one side (but I don't remember which side, front or rear).

I guess I'm saying if it looks or feels different, chances are it is.

The fingers shouldn't move when tightening the bolts. Look at the center hub, usually there is "engine side" stamped on it in tiny letters.

Quick update:

I took off the pressure plate and looked at the direction I had the clutch. I had it right the first time. And for the record... the pressure plate fingers DO move when final tightening and postioning. Also, because of the clutch hub.... it would not have been possible to put it in backwards. The hub hits the flywheel.

Brain fart, you're right. I was thinking when you said it had a sticker saying which way it went, none of mine ever had that. I always figured it out because it could only go on one way. Crap, I'm getting old!!! It has been about 8 years since I messed with it though.
