I have nothing productive to add!
As for the fuses -- a couple things.
*The ears that grab them can sometimes spread and not make good contact with the fuse. Maybe some needlenose pliers and a quick pinch to make sure they're tight.
*Sometimes fuses will occasionally go and still look good. Try another fuse anyway.
