So i was on my home today and i hit the on switch for cruise control and my horn honked. I thought that it might just be a one time thing so i tried again and sure enough the horn honked. Anyone know how to fix this.
Likely shorted wires behind the airbag, or a bad clockspring assembly. Have you removed the driver's airbag recently? It's easy to pinch the wires if you're not careful.
What he said...or if you have done some work on the car recently and forgotten to hook up a ground somewhere that could do it too. Bad grounds can cause some really weird problems. Such as what you mentioned.
Not to long ago i put reverse glow gauges in it but i didnt mess with any of the wiring other then the ones coming off the gauges. How hard is it to fix if there is a shorted wire or should i just take it to a shop?

fixing the wire is easy, finding it is the "hard part". get a wiring schematic, itll take 10 seconds from there. apparently its shorting to power on the horn side, so look for those wires on the schematic.
last time i check the horn wire that connect when u hit the horn its self are ground wires if your installing a different steering wheel and u take the wire to run the horn and ground it out the horn honks. SO with that said when u hit your cruise control it is grounding the horn wire that runs from the wheel to the horn i would defently check for a pinched wire look where u changed the gauges running down the column check all those wire u might of skimmed or pinched them. hope this helps a little
