Cruisin Colby car show (Everett)

Hey I dont know how many of you guys are into the general street rod type car shows but this is a really good one. I took my car last year and had a great time. I had the only Fox body mustang car there and was amazed how much attention it got amongst all the high dollar sheet metal there. Some good examples of what I mean by high dollar, Gullwing Mercedes, Hemi Cuda, $200k 40 Ford street rod, and of course the baddass red 70 Mustang with the 521 big block, Tremec TKO, and huge Baer brakes.
The weather was threatening all day last year and there were still over 600 cars. They are predicting 800 some odd cars this year. Today (sunday) from 3:00-6:30 they will have about 400 cars cruising downtown Everett, kinda fun to watch. Tomorrow (monday) is the big show is from 10:00- 4:00 and admission is free. If you want to enter your car you are encouraged to get there early and entry fee is $20.
Either way Im sure you wont be sorry for checking it out. http://www.cruzintocolby.com/

It was a great show -- much better than I was expecting really. A little bit of everything. :nice:

it is actually illegal to cruise in everett... they have those signs that say so

This is true. There were several people who were displaying certificates from the Mayor saying they had officially violated that law. I assume they handed them out to the first however many people who showed up. :nice:

Im glad a few of you guys could make it. It was every bit as good as last year. Even though my car was parked between two pretty baddass customers cars ( slammed green and white 56 chevy with a blown small block 427 and a red 95 S351 with a 800 hp T trimmed 408) it still got some good attention. I met some more great people and was able to see some old friends.
89MustangGX and 98V6K.I.T.T., wish I would have been able to bump into you guys and maybe BS a little, maybe some other time.

yeah....would have been cool to talk alittle, I just kinda found some time to go down and did. Would have loved to look at that turbo setup, I'm looking into possibly a single turbo or twin t3/t4 turbos in the next couple years possibly

it's too bad you didn't have the old 89 Adam......would have been a good car for this show to be in.

I made it as a spectator! I figured a bone stock GT wasn't car show material, and I live 8 blocks away, so walked up to the cruise, and walked the show.

I saw that turbo'd fox car, that was pretty sweet :nice:

I also spent a bit of time drooling over the black Cobra R, but I wasn't sure if it was real or a clone, but he had all kinds of R ads and numbers, so I'm guessing it was real.

Definitely a fun show.

Little Red Zuk, appreciate the compliment.

As far as that black cobra. No its not a Cobra R, only has the 320 hp 4.6 4v among other things. Still a pretty cool car. But it bothered me that he put a window sticker of a REAL Cobra R in the window. Cloning a car is one thing, but really trying to make people believe its real is another.
Kinda reminds me of a guy at a car show telling people his cobra kit car was real. Car had a 351w and a 8.8 rear, was very obviously a Factory5 car. Who are these people kidding?

It caught me off guard at first -- then I realized what was going on. I almost questioned the owner, because he was there at the time, but I thought better of it.

I wondered why someone would go to the trouble of getting all that stuff and putting it up in the window if not to make people believe it's the real thing...

yeah.....now that's just lame....if you are going to clone something atleast make it believeable....a black 00 R come on now?? a 351 Cobra?? Come on now.....atleast have the right red color for the cobra R and either a 289 or 427 engine in the cobra.

Little Red Zuk....look for me I live in the same area, if you see a 02 torch red GT with 5 stars and black bumper inserts that's most likely me.

Should be easy to spot, same color as mine :D (But I've only had mine for about 2 weeks now)

I live in downtown Everett, and work in South Everett on Airport Rd, and I've only seen 1 other Torch Red GT, and a few V-6's.

But back to the Cobra, he did a great job of fooling me on the clone (not that I'm a be-all expert though)
