Hi all I am new to this forum. I was wondering if anyone out there has any information on the custom super chip (SCT). I am leaning towards getting one custom burned for my car. I am actually having a Dyno Lab program the chip for me. I currently have flow master delta cat back, k&N, Home made CAI, spiral air flow in MAF, MSD distributor and coil w/plugs along with sick 18" wheels. I would like to know what kind of gains would I get. Also is this the next best horse power upgrade. Thanks to all who reply. Cheers!

Well I wasn't trying to put a whole lot of modifications on my mustang. I am very happy with the performance. I am not a racer, but like the fact that I have a muscle vehicle. Anyway, the spiral thingy is from www.spiralmax.com. I think it is pretty awesome. I do feel more torque and it funnels the air through the MAF as a tornado effect along with providing fuel efficency. Do you think changing my MAF to a cobra or Ford GT-40or trick flow would be much better than getting a custom chip at this time? If I choose to go with a trottle body 70MM would I need to get gaskets for it. Thanks for responding.

Well, first off the spiral doohicky im your maf is a joke and I only say that b/c by the time the incoming air reaches the manifold (much less the comb cham), its gonna be moving the same way it would have without the spiral wha-cha-ma-call-it.

Now, as far as the SCT chip goes, that's what I am running with my Vortech and the diff in driveability & idle quality between pre-chip and after chip were night and day. I never had that much faith in a mail order chip.

Your spiralmax thing is a load of ****. Throw it away. A custom chip is the last modification you would need, and even then I don't think it's neccessary unless you change the heads and the camshaft. A 70mm throttle body is too big for an otherwise stock motor; a 65mm would be just fine. Changing your MAS and throttle body may get you a few horsepower, but nothing major. If you're looking for a real seat-of-the-pants feel, get some 3.73 or 4.10 rear end gears.

how much are you thinking of paying and are you into tuning it yourself?

the tweecer lets you adjust the tuning yourself and doesn't cost too much ...

I am selling a certificate for a custom tuned Superchip from apten performance

You just call them up tell them what you have and they will burn it for you. you can get a flip chip with a separate mode for optional 87 and 93 octane tunes, or even a teen driver mode for when someone else is driving your car.

PM me if you are interested
