That's a very clean set-up. How much did that all cost you?

If I was to do it all again it would cost me less as I had made some mistakes and only through trial and error came to this completed look. The carpeting was done by an old hippie for $80 CDN,...the sheet aluminum would have been cheaper if I had done it right the first time also. You'd have to check on the price of aluminum in your area. The back portion of the bottom piece rests on fasteners secured through a hole in some sheet metal that originally was used to hold the back seat brackets. I have to take everything apart again so a fabricator can install an 8 point roll cage,...I'll take more pictures of the brackets etc. actually very little fabricating that had to be done by a pro,...The dzus fasteners are quite expensive and a real pain to fit properly,...but hey it can be done.

Back to the old hippie,..he had a male cat in his shop,...I had put the carpeting in the car and the first day in the sun, I remembered he had a cat,...damn cat peed on the carpeting,....took a while to find a cleanser that would remove the smell,.....Ok I vented,...I feel better now,...want help let me know

Yes, that's my favorite part also,...I had it fitted there first,...then realized that hey, I can use it for a template and maybe make the seat delete out of something else,...something stronger, lighter, faster,......so I tried aluminum and ya know it worked even better,....

Ha, thanks for the interest in my seat delete,..if you want help with installing your cardboard, just let me know,....

Removing Seat?

I've had the back seat almost out before when putting stuff in the trunk but was wondering if you could tell me what is involved/necessary for removing the rear seat. Is it just the actually seats or do you have to unbolt some framework as well? I'm going to build and install a delete kit for my car and want to know the proper uninstall procedures for the seat so I can draw up my template.

Thanks in advance guys :)

The seat bottom unit comes out in one piece, by pushing in the connectors where the seat bottom meets the carpeting. Just push in and pull up at the same time.

The back cushions can be unbolted as one unit as well by pulling the cushions down to gain access to bolts and screws that attach a metal frame to the rear bulkhead. The cushions are attached to the frame and willcome out as one unit. Actually it's better if you do it this was rather then fuss with removing each cushion individually (it can be done by removing the bolts where the cushions hinge). Don't loose the bolts that hold the cushions to the frame I just mentioned as they will cost you $40 to replace.
