As noted in my other thread, I am now running a 1" intake spacer for the purposes of VC clearance. Anyway, needless to say I haven't been able Kenny Brown STB with the 1" spacer, it hits my C&L inlet pipe. My question is this: Would it be feasable to cut out the section that hits and reweld it so it clears? Just throwing around some ideas, let me know.

Yah, you could do the cut and retorch job. Not pretty though. You could just go without the brace. Cobras even didn't come with 'em and had softer coil springs than the GT's. Unless you are autocrossing your stang you probably won't even notice that it is not on there. Try running without it for awhile and see if you really miss it. I didn't see subframe connectors listed in you mode list. I've read that 'Verts to well with sub frame connectors.

IF you do, make sure it clears the hood too!

I am doing the exact same thing. I am going to cut it and then weld in some altered braces to strengthen the front end. It seems like an easy cut and weld job. I'll send some pics when I get mine done.

:OT: do you have an aftermarket hood? Its hard to tell from that picture. If not how are you able to run a 1" spacer? My eddy rubs the bottom of my hood in the corner and couldnt see it fitting under there with a spacer.

Zach - Stock hood, hood liner removed, and I probably couldn't get more than a couple of pieces of paper in between the intake and the top of the hood, its VERY close.

As far as the STB, I do Autocross a lot, and I really notice a difference driving the car without it, so I would very much prefer to put it back on.

What kinda of VC's are you using that you need a 1 inch spacer?

When i had a cobra intake, i got away with a 1/2 inch spacer with my FMS valve covers. I had to cut the egr part a tiny bit to make it fit, real close. With my typhoon, it fit with the 1/2 spacer, and there is plenty of room. The lower intake just sticks up so much higher the cobra it seems.
