True... A reflash or tune does wonders on even a stock car but is it completely necessary not really.

It all comes down with what your looking to spend if you have the money by all means go and get it tuned... DO you need it... Not really... you can do with out it. this is what i think it comes down to.

Maybe I can answer your question in a more helpful fashion. Your car will run just as well as it does now (no driveability issues) if you change the gear and don't do a tune. People are recommending a tune, because it will always make the car run better regardless of what gear ratio you have. If you want to get the most out of your gear swap, get it tuned, but the car will run just fine without it.

o.k., thanks! i will now get the gears without a tune. i just feared that my stang would not idle right and run like crap with the gears. my fear is gone now. now i need to decide which gear ratio is should get. 3.73 or 4.10 for my aode tranny. i want my stang to be able to hook up though. to all of you, i thank you all and i really appreciate all your help. thanks!!!

3.73's are a good all around gear. If you plan on doing drag racing like a street/strip car 4.10's would be the best w/ your AODE but if its just a street car then 3.73's are a great gear to go with.

Sounds like a good choice, the FMS gears seem to be the most reliable, and best fitting.
