cutoff switch?

Ok I see people putting cuttoff switches on their stangs to keep people from stealing them. I am wanting to know how I can go abouts doing this? I guess the best would be to make the fuel be the cutoff. How/where would I splice in to put a toggle switch? Under the drivers seat where the fuse is? Anyone have a site on doing this? Any help would be great.

i would do it at the coil and shutoff the power to the ignition, that way the car would not start at all, with the fuel off it may at least run for a little bit and that is enough to be where it wasn't when you parked it. the green wire going to the coil would be the best.

good question. I am a criminal justice major and we have someone from the sheriff's dept. auto theft division come every semester and he just asked me for the second straight sememster if i ever put in that fuel cut off switch. I need to stop procrastinating and do it, so I would like to know the answer as well.

i put one in under the drivers seat. Do not have to run wires very far. It was easy to do also, a wiring diagram helped.
