I’ve noticed ever since I bought my 2021 Mustang, other Mustang drivers will try to race me. I do not partake but it does happen a lot I’ve noticed. Today, a first happened where a Cyber Truck (of all cars to try this) tried racing me or at the very least was trying to show he could go fast! Can you believe he thought he was faster than a Mustang?? Ugh. Unreal.

But with three motors making more than 800 horsepower and Tesla’s excellent launch control system, the Cybertruck blasted to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds in our testing before crossing the quarter mile in 11.0 seconds at 113.7 mph.

Tesla Cybertruck Beast is Both Quicker and Slower than Tesla’s Claims in MotorTrend Testing

The wildest Beast version of the Tesla Cybertruck is the quickest truck we’ve ever tested and puts many supercars on notice.

That may be but had I not held back, I could've easily smoked him. Mind you, I have the eco boost Mustang too. So, imagine if I had like a 5.0! Don’t even get me started on how insanely ugly those damn things are

Let's keep it real:

If we're talking flat acceleration from a dig against a machine that has AWD, 800+ ft/lbs tq, and doesn't have to compete against a GT's suspension or braking in turns then yeah... The truck will smoke a GT.

Hmmm. Ok. I mean, if one were to believe this video, may e but something is off. For starters, there were two times the Mustang had a delayed start for whatever reason. The Mustang also started slower than what I know it can do. I’ve seen Mustangs that are GTs start way faster than that. Finally, even if the Cyber Truck is that fast, it’s still the ugliest thing on the road.

You can look all over the interwebz... Under those conditions in the video above, the results are going to be about the same.

The limitations of the Cyber Truck are [not] torque production.

When you catch one of these things in the wild, the number-one limiting factor on these vehicles is state of the battery charge. Who knows what the owner/driver of that vehicle has planned that day? Pretty sure they don't want to have to stop someplace and wait 30+ min for a charge. Drag racing with you from a random light increases that chance dramatically. For you... Fuel stops are about a 5 min affair. Balls to the wall, max performance for the Cyber Truck lasts about 20 minutes, tops. This is why you seldom see Nürburgring times for E vehicles and when you do, there's usually a [note].

At a track with 1/4 mile runs and a gas powered generator, you can top off between runs. lol

Their brakes suck, the suspension is even worse, they have no resale value and are plagued with electrical gremlins.

Gotta give it it's due though. It accelerates very quickly.

If somebody gave me one, I'd trade it in on a real car or truck.

They are probably blown, stroked, and have some suspension work. I mean, they're not unbeatable. Joe Schmoe can drive one into the 12s without issue. I've seen some dip into the 11s.

For reference: A stock EcoBoost Mustang with a 10-Speed Auto can go mid 13s (a bit better with sticky tires).

Well, kudos to you for being a realist when it comes to facts about the Cyber Truck. I wish I could be that impartial. I just hate everything about those damn things, including what they represent and who they're connected to. In terms of what I said regarding Mustangs though, I realize other cars could beat a Mustang but I was specifically comparing it to a Cyber Truck

I don't think many gearheads are for all the electric vehicles and whatnot, but you have to admit them sumbitches are fast. I had a buddy drive one of his coworkers Tesla. He said it was ignorant how quick it was. Instant power.
I wonder how many wide open runs that cyber truck can do before it needs recharged.
